If 485 application is pending for longer time, say more than 2 years, I have seen that USCIS wants a reconfirmation from the employer that they continue to support the green card application for the position for which the application was originally applied. This is not just applicable to consulting companies alone. Any types of companies and applicants in any categories (Eb-1,2&3) could get RFE at the last stage of the process. So to have your application processed without a shred of a doubt, it is best to be in a position to reply that RFE anytime during the process.

Part of the reason was that few H-1B applicants were running big debts on credit cards and leaving the country. Credit card companies have no way of collecting the money overseas. Few bad apples make every one else look bad.

In a key finding, government data document that a moratorium on legal immigrants entering the country could devastate the Social Security system by ballooning the size of the actuarial deficit by almost one-third -- 31 percent -- over a 50-year period. (page 1)
To compensate for the loss of revenue caused by a moratorium would require increasing Social Security taxes on Americans by $506 billion in present value over 50 years and $611 billion over 75 years. Such a tax increase would cost an American earning $60,000 in 2004 more than $1,860 in higher payroll taxes over the next 10 years.

Considering the current economic situation, i donot expect much progress in addressing country quota elimination/CIR's.
We should atleast try to get our issues addressed in bits and pieces. Overall, anything to address retrogression should be welcomed! rather than 'debate and beat the horse to death.'

31st is a working day for me, if 180th day is 31st than does the employer lose the ability to revoke 140 from the 31st or 1st?, Does it mean than USCIS should receive revokation request by 31st or that the request can be postmarked by the 180th day?

A lot many can empathize with you. But if you are looking for relief - you ought to take responsibility for how you feel. You already understand the forces of nature - you will get your GC when it's your time. If anything your needless frustration and forceful attempts are only interfering with the energies that have made your PD current.
Just relax - get some exercise, eat well and participate in things that lift your soul.

As the time progress, I am doing all sorts of things, like checking USCIS case status, and checking everything that can possibly give me some information. I know that it is waste of time, I know it is not good for health, I know that I will get GC when time comes, but still, my mind is tricking me to think about it. I checked all these forums until 2A.M last night. I am not having enough sleep. I am waiting for a opportunity to get rid of my desi employer. I am really getting frustrated (I am not saying that I have been waiting for GC approval desperately). I just want to share my frustration and what I have been going through. I know I am in a better position than most of other people whose priority date is not even current. I wish they never dangled a carrot in front of me. I am not sure if they disappoint me next month, but I am still keeping my hopes. Hopefully, I would get over this and have enough sleep from today.

and industry doesnt care either (why fix it when H1Bs are always willing to put

Hydboy, you make a good point. Does anyone know if this is how USCIS would do a Qtrly Spillover if they do it ? And do they have to make the EB2-I and EB2-C dates the same before they do a spill over like they do it for the yearly?

I have noticed soft LUD's on all receipts including I140, H1B with all other receipts (485, EAD and AP) for my self and my spouse after using AC21 with H1B transfer.
Not received FP yet and did not call Service center for it.
Any clues? or any experienced the same.

For couple of weeks in 2001, when I was getting H1 transfer, I was without pay. I applied H1 transfer before old H1 expired, but got the receipt notice after few weeks and only after that I started working. Am I out of status ?
For that matter, is it out of status if one gets paid from 2 companies with
2 H1bs ? If one is on bench but getting paid by one company, starts working with 2nd company on new H1b?

My PD is also close to yours and transfer is TSC-CSC-NSC
